Continuous Personal Development (short courses)

In order to maintain coaching knowledge Continuous Personal Development courses (CPD) are run throughout the region in line with the needs identified by Club Coach Coordinators (CCC). This means a club can request a CPD course to be run at their venue, subject to a minimum of 10 people confirmed to attend.

A list of popular courses can be found on the D&WRFU coaching page. A comprehensive list can be found by logging onto http://www.englandrugby.com/my-rugby/courses/  and viewing the drop down list under coaching then course name.

The CCC may arrange for a course to be run at their club, by contacting the RFU Community Rugby Coach for assistance:

Coaching Children Rugby Union – UKCC Level 1

£115 (incl. VAT)

The course will be for those coaches who work with players up to U12 (Mini / Midi).

Coaches working in the 15-a-side game may enter the coaching pathway via the UKCC Level 2 RFU Certificate in Coaching the 15-a-side Game of Rugby Union.

Rugby Ready attendance remains a prerequisite. Coaches will also need to complete the IRB online version of Rugby Ready and take the certificate to the Level 1 course as confirmation of having completed the prerequisite.

Typical delivery will consist of 3 full days, including some pre-course study. This format gives coaches the opportunity to apply their learning at their club or school and complete home study elements of the course.
